Shop, eat and drink during Western Skies Weekend

The first Western Skies Weekend Shop Hop is taking place in seven small Iowa towns in Adair and Guthrie Counties Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11, including Guthrie Center, Panora, Casey, Menlo, Stuart, Fontanelle and Greenfield. Businesses are generally open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Western Skies Weekend is named after the byway that connects the participating towns. It takes place on Friday and Saturday so shoppers can see all 7 towns at their pace. Shop, eat and see the sights at several small businesses in these picturesque small towns.

Follow Western Skies Weekend on Facebook to learn about participating towns and businesses. A shop hop map is posted on Facebook and hard copies will be available at each location. It is free to participate.

“We want to show our community and Iowans how much our small towns have to offer and how much fun it is to road trip in Iowa,” shared Stuart Chamber Director Brenda Dudley.

Greenfield Chamber/Main Street and Development Executive Director Stacie Eshelman agreed.

“Western Skies Weekend is an example of communities collaborating to support each other. It’s been so fun working with the other towns and learning what there is to eat and do in each one,” Eshelman said.
