Panorama CSD to share superintendent with O-M

The Panorama and Orient-Macksburg school boards are happy to announce an agreement to share current Panorama  Superintendent Shawn Holloway.

The Panorama and Orient-Macksburg boards approved the agreement at special board meetings held Monday, May 16. Both districts will benefit from operational sharing incentives for positions like superintendent, the districts said. Each district will receive approximately $66,700 annually in additional revenue from the state of Iowa through the program that encourages districts to share certain positions.

“I appreciate the confidence the Panorama Community School District Board of Directors have in me and the faith they have that I will continue to serve our district into the future,” Holloway said. “Long term, this agreement will provide positive financial flexibility when making decisions on how best to educate our students in both Orient-Macksburg and Panorama. I look forward to the challenges of being a shared superintendent, this agreement was something that I personally pursued. I feel this can be a win-win situation for both districts.”

The proposed one-year agreement will consist of a 70% time commitment at Panorama and 30% at Orient-Macksburg from Holloway, respectively. The agreement can be extended in subsequent years.

This superintendent sharing agreement will begin July 1, 2022.
