Karen Lea Linn, 79, passed away April 4, 2022 while battling cancer. Karen was born May 6, 1942 in Hamburg, Iowa to parents George and Elizabeth Leckenby. She graduated from Hamburg High School in the spring of 1959 and married Merle Dankof in the fall of 1959. They had two sons, Scott Dankof and Curt Dankof.
Karen remarried in October 1977 to Bill Linn of Casey, IA and gained another son, Jon Linn. Karen and Bill, along with the three boys, lived on the farm south of Casey for many happy years. They enjoyed raising Herefords, Hogs, Quarter horses and growing crops. Karen was a wonderful mother and housewife who enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and traveling.She also worked at JC Penney in Des Moines from 1996-2008. She moved from Casey, IA to Westcliffe, CO in 2018 to be closer to her sons, Scott & Curt.
She is survived by her children, Scott (Laura) Dankof of Westcliffe CO, Curt (Tracy) Dankof of Breckenridge CO and Jon (Giti) Linn of Casey IA; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Jesse) Coffman, Rachel (Matt) Czeszewski , Ashley (Trevor) Rafferty, Curtis Dankof and Jasmine (Ryan) Van Zeeland; her great-grandchildren, Emma Rafferty and Landon Czescewski.
She was preceded in death by (husband) Bill Linn, (mother) Elizabeth Leckenby, (father) George Leckenby and (grandson) Thomas Dankof.
Karen will be desperately missed by those she has left behind. Our hearts are broken by this loss but we take comfort that she is at peace with our Lord in Heaven.
A memorial will be held at the All Saints Catholic Church, 216 All Saints Drive, Stuart, IA on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 2-4 p.m.
