Linda Diann O’Neall, daughter of Duane ‘Bud’ O’Neall and Joyce (Boham) O’Neall was born May 2, 1958, in Des Moines at Mercy Hospital. She lived in Indianola until the age of two, then moved to the Creston area with her family. She graduated from Creston High School in 1976. In 1978, she married Douglas Dunkerson and had three children. The couple later divorced. Linda spent the majority of her life in the companionship of Jon Sanden.

Linda worked as a manager at Casey’s, many years at Bunn-O-Matic, and several years managing Hardee’s. She then worked as a supervisor at UPS until retirement in 2019.

Linda enjoyed cruising around town in her Mini Cooper, making home-cooked meals big enough to feed an army, watching birds, camping the summer away and spending time with her family.

She will be remembered for her unmatched strength, her continual selflessness, reliable work ethic, her quick humor, great taste in music, stubbornness and her huge heart for her family. Linda’s proudest accomplishment wasn’t managing the best Hardees in the state, it was her children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her partner Jon Sanden; three children: Bart Dunkerson of Creston, Sarah (husband Kris) Koehne of Ankeny and Eric (Sara Lynn) Dunkerson of Alleman; granddaughters Bethany and Abigail Dunkerson; two sisters: Treasa O’Neall (Ronnie Taylor) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Janice (Randy) Nurnberg of Creston; brother Randy (Debbie) O’Neall of Creston; two aunts: Dolores Moran of Osceola and Kaye Lescher of Ankeny; step-children and step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Samuel Dunkerson and Douglas Dunkerson, her children’s father.
