Patty Phipps

Patty Phipps, 88, of Creston passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at Creston Specialty Care. No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Memories can be shared at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.

Patricia “Patty” JoAnn Driskell was born June 14, 1932, in Creston, the daughter of Everett Franklin Elijah and Mardell Aileen (Lombard) Driskell.

Patty graduated from Creston High School with the class of 1950. She worked for General Telephone in Creston as a telephone operator for 32 years. After her time with General Telephone, she worked at the Super 8 Hotel and The Iowana Hotel until her retirement.

Patty was an avid sports fan, especially when the University of Iowa Hawkeyes were playing.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Scott Phipps of Creston; six grandchildren: Trevor Phipps, Sunita Phipps, Patty Phipps, Chantelle Phipps, Angela Phipps and Brandon Phipps; great-grandchildren: Brady, Blake, Keyin, Kelsi and Bryson; sisters Jeanne (Mike) Cary of West Des Moines and Karen (Mike) Williamson of Fresno, California; sister-in-law Donna Driskell of Creston; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding Patty in death were her parents; son Kevin; brother Dick Driskell; sister MaryAnn Abbott; brother-in-law Oris Abbott and niece Susan.
