Promote an inclusive atmosphere

I am so disappointed to learn via social media that the Superintendent of Schools for Creston would show so little empathy and understanding by expressing his personal biases and political persuasions on any public forum. As we are all aware, anything posted on the internet in any forum is certainly not private.

Students should be made aware that they could be denied an honor, or even a job, because they have posted something inappropriate on social media. Human resource professionals will attest to the fact that they explore social media forums to learn more about an applicant than their resume.

There should be nothing in a public school’s atmosphere that would not promote an inclusive atmosphere for all students, regardless of their “other” persuasions, be it ethnic, cultural, or gender preference. There should be no tolerance for anything like this in our community or our public schools.
