Werdna J. “Sally” Hubbard, 95, of Washington, formerly of Casey passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020, at United Presbyterian Home in Washington.
A graveside service and interment will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at Dalmanutha Cemetery in Casey, with Rev. Jane Shepherd officiating. A general memorial has been established. Sally was born Feb. 23, 1925, in Guthrie County, the daughter of Roy and Florence (Armstrong) Hayes. She graduated from Menlo High School. Sally was united in marriage to Harley Eugene “Gene” Hubbard Aug. 9, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Sally farmed her entire life with her husband in Guthrie County. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Casey and enjoyed playing cards.
She is survived by daughter, Elaine Ryan; husband, Art of Newton; daughter-in-law, Millie Hubbard of Des Moines; grandchildren: Jeff Messinger (Holly) of Lake Forest, Calif., Tim Messinger (Kim) of Washington, Damon Callahan (Jennifer) of Wellman, Angela West (Heath) of Wellman, Jim Gaskill of Omaha, Neb., Kate Gaskill-Waldman of Atlantic, Bryan Hubbard of Des Moines, Mike Ryan (Sandy) of New Sharon, Pat Ryan (Joni) of Knoxville, Connie Gullett (Larry) of Solon and Teresa Smith (Juan) of Ankeny; many great- and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978; children: Bruce Hubbard, Steve Messinger, Irene Gaskill, Jeanne Callahan and Glen Hubbard.
