The Creston Community School District worked with Union County Public Health to review a positive COVID-19 case among its student body. Deron Stender, CCSD supintendent said, through contact tracing, individuals who may have been exposed have been contacted and provided appropriate guidance.
“We follow the CDC and public health guidelines to conduct contact tracing and to provide a safe environment for our students, staff and community,” Stender said in a press release. “As always, families have the right to do what they feel is best for their children’s safety. I encourage our students, staff, families, and community to continue to be diligent and practice social distancing (six feet apart, less than 15 minutes), washing hands, and wear face coverings to mitigate the spread of the virus.
Stender said following the recommended guidelines helps protect the safety, health and well-being of everyone.
“We are all in this together and we will get through this together,” he said.
