Christopher Michael Palmer, 23, 512 S. Main St., Independence, Missouri, was charged with simple assault 11:04 p.m. Saturday at 102 W. Taylor St.
According to a Creston Police report, officers responded to a report of a fight at Casey’s General Store. Palmer stated to police that a victim had called him a name and spit on him and admitted to pushing her in response.
Palmer was released on his promise to appear.

Angela Sue Wimber, 46, 507 E. Iowa St., Afton, was charged with disorderly conduct 1:18 p.m. Saturday at 102 W. Taylor St.
According to a Creston Police report, officers responded to a report of a fight at Casey’s General Store. Wimber stated to police that she had confronted an individual over a money issue. During the confrontation, Wimber provoked a response from the individual to escalate the situation.
Wimber was released on her promise to appear.

Roger Kraft, 509 N. Cherry St., reported 11:04 a.m. Saturday that sometime between Monday and Thursday someone entered a vehicle parked at his residence and stole a Springfield Armory .380 semi-automatic handgun.
Estimated loss was $400.
