Creston man killed in Wednesday night collision

A Creston man suffered fatal injuries following a head-on crash near Creston on Wednesday night.

According to an Iowa State Patrol report, the accident occurred 11:52 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 34, one mile west of Creston. Troopers determined that Todd M. Murray, 25, of Creston, was driving eastbound on Highway 34 when his 2006 Chevy Impala crossed the centerline for unknown reasons and collided head on with a 2021 Kenworth Semi driven by William J. Caraway, 42, of Bondurant. Both vehicles left the roadway and came to rest in the ditch. Murray was wearing a seat belt but suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

Powers Funeral Home transported Murray from the scene to the State Medical Examiner’s Office. Caraway was not listed as suffering any injuries.
