Debbie Jo Gardner

Debbie Jo Gardner left this world Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at the Anchor Lodge in Amherst, Ohio.

Debbie was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Aug. 15, 1962. She lived there until she moved to Monmouth, where she had grown up and graduated from Midland High School in 1981.

After high school, Debbie moved to the Creston area where she gave birth to a daughter, Brandie Majors, who would later give her three grandsons. She met Dennis Gardner and they lived together for many years until they married June 25, 2003 in Thayer. They had a happy marriage until Dennis’s passing in February 2017.

In 2020, Debbie moved to Amherst, Ohio.

Debbie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; her mother and father, Melvin and Shirley Buchanan; her uncle, James Buchanan.

Survivors include her daughter, Brandie Majors of Des Moines; grandsons: Cameron, Cody and Ethan Morgan of Leon; sisters: Teresa Buchanan of Mount Ayr, Karen (Keith) Nichols of Perry; brother Mike (Kathy) Buchanan of Diagonal; niece Stormie Buchanan; nephew Tim Buchanan, both of Diagonal; special friend Mike Sappington of Amherst, Ohio; adopted brother, Jeff Walling; and many friends.

A graveside service and interment will be in Cromwell Cemetery, 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, officiated by Pastor Jim McIntosh. Memorials are to Jeff Walling, to help with the cost of the headstone.
