Terrie Atteberry

Terry Atteberry, 57, of Logan, Iowa, formerly of Creston, died Monday, June 17, 2019, at the Westmont Care Center in Logan. A celebration of life memorial service for Terrie and her brother Paul Sanders, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2020, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave. in Creston. Pastor Phil Price will officiate. Social distancing will be necessary. Terrie Joan (Sanders) Atteberry was born March 30, 1962, to Paul Leon and Nina Faye (Johnston) Sanders in Council Bluffs. She was raised in the Creston area and graduated from East Union High School in 1980. She then took several classes for certified nurses aide, bookkeeping, accounting and computers. Terrie lived in several places in Iowa including Council Bluffs, Carlisle, Macksburg, Afton, Creston, Winterset and Logan. She worked numerous jobs including a busing aid at schools and a crossing guard.

Terrie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Creston, United Methodist Church in Macksburg and the Mission Baptist Church in Carlisle. She enjoyed volunteering with Special Olympics, Relay for Life, the Reads Program, Head Start and MATURA.

Terrie is survived by her two sons Brian Atteberry of Liberty, Missouri, David Atteberry of Orient; sister Edith Sanders of Creston and other relatives and friends.

Terrie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Alan Atteberry; brother, Dick Sanders; sister-in-law, Evelyn Sanders; special friend, Hubert Andersen.
