Nodaway Valley's Joshua Baudler – 2020 South Central Iowa Athlete of the Year finalist

Cross country

• 2019 Class 1A state champion with a school record time of 16:10.6 (14 seconds ahead of second).

• First ever individual boys state champion for Nodaway Valley.

• Member and leading runner of state runner-up team in 2019.

• 2018 Class 1A runner-up at state (16:19, school record before time listed above); Team finished 8th.

• Member of three-peat championship Nodaway Valley team as a sophomore.

• Missed part of freshman season due to injuries after converting from football.

• All-state selection.

Track and field

• Missed senior season due to COVID-19.

• Member of botched Class 1A 3,200 race at the state meet in 2019 - originally finished as runner-up, but after review was given fifth.

• 2019 third-place medalist in the 1,600 (4:37.02).

• Placed 10th at 2018 state track meet in 1,600 (4:40.04)

• Drake Relay’s qualifier in 1,600 (2018).


• Three-year varsity letterwinner.

• 2020 Pride of Iowa all-conference Honorable Mention.

• Scored a career-high 242 points (career 492).

• Assisted 189 points in career with a career high 87 in his senior season.

• Finished with 147 steals, placing third in his senior season (63) and second in junior season (56) in the Pride of Iowa.

• As a guard, grabbed 226 rebounds across four seasons (111 in senior season).

• Blocked 16 shots across four years.

• Member of Class 1A District 13 championship Wolverine team.
