Murray's Reece Held – 2020 South Central Iowa Athlete of the Year finalist

Football

• Caught 15 career interceptions, six his senior season.

• Defensively finished four seasons with 179 tackles, 132 solo tackles, 10 tackles for loss and six fumble recoveries.

• Two-time first-team all-district selection at defensive back and once selected as a punter.

• Rushed for 705 career yards and scored 11 career touchdowns on the ground.

• Finished his career with 2,173 yards from scrimmage, 398 return yards and 20 total touchdowns.

Basketball

• Unanimous first-team all-Bluegrass selection from 2017-20.

• A three-time team-high assists leader, finishing with 342 in his career.

• Scored 1,085 points career points, averaging 12.5 points per game during his four-year career.

• Finished with 181 steals, a team-high in his sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

• Will attend Iowa Wesleyan and play basketball in 2020-21.

Track and field

• School record holder for the high jump, setting the new mark at 6-0 in his junior season.

• State qualifier as a junior in the high jump during his lone season competing.

• A team-best in the 100-meter dash (12.28 in 2019), seventh in the Bluegrass Conference.

Baseball

• First team all-Bluegrass Conference selection in 2018.

• Second team all-Bluegrass Conference selection in 2017 and 2018.

• Hit for a career .353 batting average in four years of varsity play (did not play senior season).

• Hit .359 as a junior, going 23-for-64 with one home run, one triple, six doubles and a team-high 21 RBIs.

• Tallied 155 career strikeouts in 132 innings pitched, with 75 coming in his junior season.
