Summer lunches

Creston Community Schools

Mondays/Wednesdays

The district and food pantry are offering the following opportunities for students and families to receive food and “Grab & Go” meals from the Creston High School parking lot modeled as a drive thru.

Grab & Go meals will not require preparation and are designed to provide a meal for the day and the following day. The food pantry will provide a weekend bag on Wednesdays.

Creston High School Parking Lot, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
District Grab & Go Meals, Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Creston
High School Parking Lot.

The East Union Emergency Meal Program

Mondays and Thursdays, has been extended through June 30. Sites remain as follows:

• Fairview Housing from Noon to 12:10 p.m.

• Afton City Park from 12:15 to 12:30 p.m. — Southwest corner south side.

• Arispe City Park from 12:40 to 12:50 p.m. — east side.

• Lorimor Trailer Park from 12:20 to 12:30 p.m. — Corner of Main and Iowa Streets or at the Southwest Corner.

• Lorimor City Park from 12:35 to 12:45 p.m.

East side delivery door of school kitchen from 1:05 to 2:30 p.m. — Enter the primary drive, continue to the alcove where there is a blue delivery door. Pull into the alcove and ring the bell and meals will be delivered to your “opened” trunk. Three lunches and breakfasts are available each delivery day. The program is free to all children one through 18 years old. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

Diagonal Community School

Mondays and Thursdays

Summer breakfast and lunch lunch pick-ups are available at the Diagonal School parking lot. Breakfast may be picked up between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m., and lunch may be picked up between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

This service is free for 18 and younger, but adults may purchase meals. Adult meals are $2.50 breakfast and $4 lunch. For further information contact Danielle at 641-344-6655, or visit the school’s Facebook page.

Prescott Grab & Go summer lunch, reading program

Every Thursday through Aug. 6

Prescott United Church is hosting a free summer lunch program for youth 18 and under. Lunch and library materials will be distributed for pick up at the Prescott United Church at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Thursday until Aug. 6. As the library is not having any gatherings at this time, library materials will also be available for pick up and drop off on Thursdays as well, along with lunches.

Connections Area Agency on Aging

Connections Area Agency on Aging is offering emergency meal door delivery to seniors in our community. Frozen and shelf-stable meals can be ordered in increments of 5, and delivered on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Care packs are also available which includes toilet paper, paper towels and other non-perishable food items. For more information please contact 1-800-432-9209.
