Patricia Fils, 88, of Creston, entered eternal rest Monday, June 29, 2020, at EveryStep Hospice House in Creston. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Pearson Family Funeral Service and Cremation Center in Creston. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. until time of service on Thursday. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Creston.

Patricia J. (Bogar) Fils was born to Daisy (Waltersdorf) and Basil Ay Bogar and has lived in Creston since she was three years old. Patricia and her mother lived with Grandma Waltersdorf until her mother remarried when Patricia was fourteen. She attended Franklin Elementary, Creston Junior and Senior High Schools, and graduated in 1949.

After graduation, she earned her teaching certificate at Creston Community College and taught the third and fourth grades at the Cromwell Consolidated School for three years. Her next employment was at the Union County Treasurer’s office for three years.

Patricia married William Glen Fils Nov. 15, 1959, and their home was blessed with a daughter, Melissa, in 1964. After Melissa arrived in the family, Pat became a homemaker and provided for Bill and Melissa. Pat was an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the First Christian Church. Her involvement in the church included serving as the president of the Mary Circle and on the B.W.F. Board.

Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; grandparents: Martha and Carl Waltersdorf, William and Rose Bogar; her step-father, Ralph Lauer; aunt, Verniece Bly; and an uncle, Carl Waltersdorf.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Melissa, and a host of good friends and great neighbors.
