Dinah Blanche Reese, 56, of Corning was charged with dependent adult abuse and interference with official acts 10:58 June 25 at her residence.

According to an Adams County Sheriff’s report, deputies were dispatched to a residence for a report of a victim locked out of his house. Officers found that Reese had deprived the victim, who is disabled and unable to walk, necessary food, shelter and physical health care. Reese became combative and attempted to shove a deputy. She was restrained on the ground and taken into custody.

Reese was released on her promise to appear.

Kimberly Dawn Thompson, 40, 2270 Juniper Ave., Corning, was charged with second-offense possession of a controlled substance 1:37 a.m. Friday near the intersection of highways 34 and 148.

According to an Adams County Sheriff’s report, the K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with a broken tail light. Thompson consented to a search of the vehicle. Deputies found a green, leafy substance they identified as marijuana based on their training and experience.

Thompson was released on her promise to appear.

Justin Paul Parker, 38, 711 Guthrie St., Adair, and James William Cox, 26, 704 Quincy St., Corning, were each charged with second-degree theft, third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools 9:09 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of 183rd Street and Kale Avenue.

According to an Adams County Sheriff’s report, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 1992 Mercury driven by Parker for traveling 62 mph in a 55 mph zone. K9 Baxo gave a positive alert to the odor of narcotics. Items in the car were determined to be stolen from a burglary at 1309 250th Street in Nodaway. Items were located in the vehicle containing the name of an individual not present. It was determined that those items were stolen from an unoccupied residence at 1309 250th Street in Nodaway, Iowa. The property owners determined that forced entry had been made into the house without their permission. Items in the house had also sustained extensive damage. Tools consistent with those used in the perpetration of burglaries were located in the vehicle.

Estimated value of the items was more than $1,500 but less than $10,000. Parker and Cox were each released on $10,000 bond.
