Monty Alley, 55, of Greenfield, entered eternal rest Friday, June 26, 2020, in Lorimor. No services are planned at this time. Monty Fritz Alley was born in Creston May 21, 1965, the son of Fred Victor and Betty Jean (Perkins) Alley. Monty was educated in the Creston Public Schools, graduating from Creston High School with the Class of 1983. Monty graduated from Southwestern Community College in 1985 with an Associate Degree in Computer Science. Growing up, Monty attended the First Presbyterian Church in Creston and later in Greenfield.
Monty worked 20 years driving a semi-truck over the road. He worked for various trucking companies and has been in all 48 contiguous states and several provinces in Canada. He enjoyed seeing the country while driving his truck. Monty resided in Greenfield for 13 years after trucking over the road. Due to ill health, Monty was unable to continue trucking but did work for Southern Iowa Trolley and loved visiting with his passengers.
Family members who preceded Monty in death include his mother, Betty Jean Alley, Sept. 18, 2014; his grandparents and several other relatives.
Monty is survived by his father, Fred Alley of Creston; a sister, Connie (Derek) Thompson of Creston; his brother, Ted (Cindy) Alley of Afton; a half-sister, Donna (Andrew) King of Gold Canyon, Arizona; half-brother, Scott (Debbie) Alley of Slater. Monty is also survived by a niece, six nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
