I want to thank ... the CNA for limiting the number of stories on COVID-19 and the recent riots related to race and policing.
I know that it’s harder for your reporters to identify, research and write local stories, rather than fill up the pages with national stories from the AP, but that’s what I get the CNA for ... local stories!
Obviously, there are important state and national stories that need to be repeated to your readers, and you have always done so. However, just because the major media sources can’t get off one or two topics, it doesn’t mean that you have to get stuck repeating them when there is really nothing substantively new to report today than there was yesterday.
I trust that if there is an important new national story, or a major new development, you’ll tell your readers. Those stories can be read anywhere else in the media, and they need to be echoed in our local paper as well. Just not the same topic every day.
In closing, I want to commend your organization for the exemplary work of Regina Smith. She has the ability to tell a complex story, with great attention to detail, that gives the reader a clear understanding of the subject. Whenever I see her byline, I know that I will be fully and accurately informed. She is a great reporter.
