Eva Perkins, 82, of Creston died Monday, June 1, 2020, at the EveryStep Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Celebration of life memorial services will be held privately at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the EveryStep Hospice House. Online condolences can be made at www.powersfh.com.

Eva Doris Perkins, daughter of M. Doris (Woods) Christensen and Shelby Chris Christensen, was born July 29, 1937, near Shannon City. She graduated from Creston High School in 1955. Following high school, Eva moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where she worked as part of the Greenberg Optical Clinic.

Eva was united in marriage to Harris Marvin Perkins Oct. 23, 1955, at the First Christian Church in Creston. They settled in Arispe in 1957, later moving to Tingley in 1960. In 1965 they moved to Creston where Eva worked at Kelly’s Flowers, Bonnie’s Flowers, Dr. Hick’s Optical Clinic and Iowa State Savings Bank. Eva was a member of the First Christian Church and the Old Tyme Power Club.

Eva is survived by her husband Harris; daughter Jeannie (Chris) Hill of Perry; three grandchildren: Tressa (Randall) Kline of Oregon, Shane Hill of Chicago and Sheila Lane of Ames; four great-grandchildren; son-in-law Gordy Berry of Thayer; along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Dianne Berry, granddaughter Amy Roan and brother John Christensen.
