Fr. Westphal offers ‘house blessings’ during ‘this crazy time’

Adam Westphal, priest at Holy Spirit Parish, is offering “house blessings” for residents in Union County.

“Since our churches are closed, I am looking for innovative ways to bring the blessing to the people,” said Westphal. “While liability concerns prevent me from actually using the firetruck to bless houses, the firetruck spraying water on a fire is a great image for the rich blessing of God coming down on a house and covering it in heavenly grace.”

Westphal invites anyone in the community to request a house blessing.

“You don’t have to be Catholic,” he said. “My desire and wish for all who receive the house blessing is that they experience the peace of God, even in the midst of this crazy time in our society.”
