Shykwuan Coleman, 21, of Ottumwa, and Michael Walsh, 24, of Creston were each cited for failure to provide proof of financial liability after an accident 1:50 p.m. Friday on North Elm Street.
According to a Union County Sheriff’s report, Coleman was driving a 2006 pontiac south on Elm Street and went to turn east onto Howard Street. Walsh was driving a 2017 Ford west on Howard Street and was approaching the intersection. Coleman did not see Walsh due to an accumulation of ice on the windshield, and Coleman’s vehicle hit the front of Walsh’s vehicle.
Estimated damage was $5,000 to Coleman’s vehicle and $2,000 to Walsh’s vehicle.
