‘Let’s stay with facts’

I read Ms. Brenneman Parnell’s Mar. 25 letter concerning wind turbines in our area. What I did not see were economic or scientific medical facts in with her opinion.

It is dangerous to state those claims and not include those facts with them. Such is the situation with our current president doing the same now with his own unsubstantiated claims about the Coronavirus. It doesn’t matter to me if he is a Republican or Democrat. I’d be saying the same thing.

What all of this does is just spread more fear and hate and it needs to stop. If you are opposed to the turbines just say “I hate looking at those damn things an I wish they weren’t here.”

The wind energy is a product of years of burning fossil fuels and global warming. I take the word of the world scientific community on that also, not the president. I am a retired railroad conductor and am sure our local BNSF employees are very concerned about jobs associated with the coal industry. It is a huge trade off between those jobs and the transportation costs of just one trainload of coal from the Powder River Basin to an Iowa utility and the climate.

Let’s stay with facts. Besides wind is free.
