David Giles, 34, and Nichole Ott, 36, both of Diagonal, were each charged on a Union County warrant for third-degree burglary 8:30 a.m. March 17 at the Union Ringgold County line.
According to a Union County Sheriff’s report, Giles and Ott entered a residence without permission at 108 S. Colfax St., Afton, and took items from the house March 9.
Giles was being held on $5,000 bond in the Union County Jail. Ott was being held on $5,000 bond in the Ringgold County Jail.

Sonya Richert, of Creston, reported vandalism 12:09 p.m. Sunday south of Highway 34.
According to a Union County Sheriff’s report, Richert’s 2013 Chevrolet Equinox was parked just south of Highway 34 due to a flat tire. When Richert returned, the car had been vandalized.
Estimated damage was $1,000.
