Brian Monday

Brian Monday, 49, loving husband and father of two daughters, lost a long and hard-fought battle with complex medical issues Monday, March 16, 2020.

Brian was born October 13, 1970, in Creston to Vance and Lila Monday. He received his bachelor’s degree from Simpson College. He married Angela May 19, 2007. They raised two beautiful daughters together, Courtney and Anna. These girls were Brian’s pride and joy.

Brian worked hard and enjoyed providing for his family with 12 years of service to Canteen and another 11 years with Tyson, where he was very blessed with a work family and organization like no other.

Brian also owned a bar in Indianola “Iowa-Mojo’s” where he made countless friends and memories to cherish for all that entered for the years.

Brian never knew a stranger. He could talk to anyone about anything. He had the biggest heart of gold. Brian had a true passion for sports and loved his Islanders, Dodgers, Cowboys and NASCAR racing. Brian was known for his quick wit, great jokes, infectious smile and that heart of gold. Brian also loved his fur-babies: Max, Anna, Sully and Cappy.

Brian was preceded in death by his brother Michael, and his grandparents Victor and Fern Monday, and Erick and Viola Anderson.

He is survived by his wife Angela; two daughters: Courtney (Justin), and Anna (Zack-fiancé); his parents Vance (Debbie) and Lila (Bill); brother Lonny (Krensenz); and his nieces: Genevieve, Sasha, Loni, Michelle, Kassidy and Amanda.

Brian's wishes for a celebration of life will be held at a future date and location to be determined in both of his homes in Iowa and Arkansas.
