Greater Greenfield Foundation announces recipients of annual grant funds

The Greater Greenfield Community Foundation’s annual meeting was held Monday, Feb. 24.

The board announced their annual grants.

Receiving Ferber Scholarships in the amount of $2,000 will be four Nodaway Valley seniors graduating in May 2020. All students may apply using hte common scholarship form available at the guidance counselor’s office at the high school or via the school’s website. Winners will be announced in May.

For the Greg Wallace Memorial Scholarship, one winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship. It is open to any Nodaway Valley seniors graduating in May who will be attending the University of Iowa. To apply, seniors will use the common scholarship application available at the guidance counselor’s office or on the school website.

Howe Grant winners were:

- $2,250 to the Nodaway Valley Elementary Booster Club for the playground project.

- $5,250 to the Greenfield City Park project sponsored by the Washington Stars 4-H Club.

- $1,200 to the Adair County Health and Fitness Center for its monthly craft class.

- $500 for the Extension Clover Kids program to fund trophies, ribons and supplies in a camp to get younger kids involved in showing livestock.

- $1,500 to the Greenfield Public Library’s youth STEM program sponsored by the NV Champions 4-H Club.

- $1,000 to the Nodaway VAlley archery program.

- $850 to the Greenfield Cub Scouts pinewood derby program.

- $5,000 to Greenfield Chamber/Main Street for the Alley Art Way

- $5,000 to the Warren Cultural Center for its auditorium flooring project.

- $2,550 for the Anesthesia Deliver Unit for the Adair County Health Foundation.

Youth programming winners were:

- $1,500 to the Warren Cultural Center for Co’Motion Dance Camp

- $1,716 to the fitness center for physical fitness summer youth camps

- $1,892 to the Greenfield City Park playground equipment project

- $1,892 to the Nodaway Valley Elementary playground project
