Rep. Axne launches survey to gather ideas from Iowans about health care costs

DES MOINES – Today, Rep. Cindy Axne (IA-03) launched a new survey to hear concerns and collect stories from residents of Iowa's Third Congressional District who have experience with the rising costs of prescription drugs.

The survey, which was sent via email and is available on her website will allow Rep. Axne to better understand how Iowans are coping with the issue of rising costs.

"As I've traveled throughout our district this past year – holding over 60 town halls – I've heard too many stories from constituents about the sacrifices they make to afford their prescription drugs," said Axne. "They've told me about skipping meals, rationing their dosages, and selling family heirlooms. While I've heard so many of these stories in person, I want to give Iowans that I haven't met yet the same opportunity to share. I will go back to Washington armed with these stories to continue fighting for solutions to lower these medical costs for Iowa families."

The survey is available for residents of Iowa’s Third Congressional District, and can be completed online at https://axne.house.gov/iowa-third-congressional-district-prescription-drug-survey.

Axne is encouraging Iowans to submit their responses by the end of March. She will release a report on the survey’s topline information later this year.

In December, Axne joined the House to pass the Lower Drug Costs Now Act, a comprehensive bill to lower prescription drug costs, allow Medicare to negotiate drug prices, and create a cap on out-of-pocket costs for seniors.
