What’s new and happening at the Gibson Memorial Library in Creston

Crochet Club – 11 a.m. Mondays: Beginners learn to crochet, and experienced hands can learn or teach new stiches.

Story Time – 10 a.m. Wednesdays: Ages birth to 5 join Children’s Librarian Sue Teutsch for a unique story time every week.

Library Board – 5:15 p.m. March 2: Members of the public are welcome to attend.

Beginning Guitar with Dustin Baird (Session 2) – 6 p.m. March 2

Maximizing Your Charitable Deductions – 2 p.m. March 4: Financial advisor Justin Cole offers best practices for maximizing deductions for charitable giving on your 2019 tax returns. Coffee and pastries will be served.

Searching the Internet – 2 p.m. March 11: Join the library director for a session on the basics of safely and securely locating web-based information.

Michael Emerson Avitt’s Matchbooks – 6 p.m. March 11: Avitt, an area historian and collector, will share his collection of local and exotic matchbooks.

K-12 Lego-mania – 4 to 6 p.m. March 12 and 26: Lego free play and snacks, with Legos provided. School-aged children and families are welcome.

Understanding Dementia – 6 p.m. March 16: Susan Finehout of CARE Initiatives presents information for caretakers and individuals affected by Dementia.

Beginning Guitar with Dustin Baird (Session 3) – 6 p.m. March 16

Adult Coloring – 5 to 7 p.m. March 18: March’s event is hosted by Adult Programming Librarian Merle Lee Pugh (ages over 18), and includes free fruit and veggie snacks.
