Justin Faris, 36, 2422 190th St., Mount Ayr, was charged with first-offense operating while intoxicted Feb. 9 on Highway 169 in Mount Ayr.
According to a Ringgold County Sheriff’s report, Faris was driving a 2004 Chevrolet and crossed the center line of Highway 169 twice. Officers initiated a traffic stop and noted a smell of alcoholic beverage coming from Faris’ breath.
Faris was being held in the Ringgold County Jail on $1,000 bond.

William Powell, 62, 204 Union St., Diagonal, was charged with public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia 8 p.m. Feb. 16 at 109 W. Madison St. in Mount Ayr.
According to a Ringgold County Sheriff’s report, officers received a call that Powell was intoxicated at a female’s residence located on North Taylor Street. Officers searched the residence and couldn’t find Powell. He was later located on the west side of the courthouse, struggling to maintain balance. When officers searched Powell, they found a wooden and metal pipe used for smoking marijuana.
Powell was being held in the Ringgold County Jail awaiting an appearance before the magistrate.
