SIOUX CITY – Briar Cliff picked up a 91-83 win over the University of Jamestown Wednesday night behind a big night from Jackson Lamb.

Former Nodaway Valley standout, Lamb put up 26 points in 38 minutes, tying teammate Jaden Kleinhesselink for the team-high. Lamb added 10 rebounds for a double-double, with two blocks and one asisst to his line.

Briar Cliff advanced to 15-14 overall and 6-13 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play.

Salve Regina falls

NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina were edged out in a 62-59 contest in a Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup against Curry.

Southwest Valley’s Morgan Shuey played 17 minutes and scored five points. She grabbed three offensive rebounds with one assist and one steal.

Salve Regina fell to 3-24 overall and 3-12 in conference play.

Midland drops game on road

FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University fell to Concordia University 89-83.

Creston’s Kylan Smallwood scored nine points with seven rebounds. Smallwood played 24 minutes and went 3-for-7 from the field.

Midland fell to 9-17 overall and 5-14 in GPAC play with one regular-season game remaining.

Boothe gives boost off bench

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Iowa State picked up an 81-52 win over the University of Texas.

Central Decatur’s Carter Boothe came off the bench for the Cyclones, playing two minutes and knocking down one 3-pointer.

With the win over Texas, Iowa State advanced to 11-14 overall on the season before falling 91-71 with No.3 Kansas.

Taylor helps
propels Simpson

INDIANOLA – Simpson College took a 109-84 win over Conference opponent Nebraska Wesleyan.

Jenna Taylor of Creston played 23 minutes and put up 18 points for the Storm. Taylor went 4-for-9 from beyond the arc. She grabbed four total rebounds, two on the offensive end and two on the defensive end.

Simpson moved to 17-7 overall and 9-6 in the American Rivers Conference.
