Four Creston youth advance from Hoop Shoot

The Knights of Columbus Hoop Shoot saw four Creston youth basketball players advancing to the regional contest in Albia

Creston advanced four youth basketball players to the regional contest after the Knights of Columbus district free-throw competition Sunday, Feb. 2. OSCEOLA – Four Creston youth basketball players advanced from the Knights of Columbus district free-throw competition Sunday, Feb. 2.

Shaylee Coen, 9, was the lone girl to advance to the regional contest. Coen went 8-for-25 from the free-throw line.

Baret Lane, 10, ended his day 11 of 25. Rhett Driskell, 11, was the most efficient of the Creston competitors, going 20 of 25 (80%). Jameson McDonald, 12, was the final Creston native to advance, shooting 18-for-25 (72%).

Ivy Ecklund, 12, from East Union (Afton) advanced, shooting 15 of 25.

The regional will be held in Albia Sunday, March 8.
