Shawn Shimer, 25, 502 N.E. 2nd St., Greenfield, was charged on a Union County warrant for the original charge of first-offense operating while intoxicated 1:15 a.m. today at the Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, Shimer showed signs of impairment during a stop for a traffic violation Sep. 15. Shimer was administered a field sobriety test and consented to a breath test, yielding a blood-alcohol content level of .000. Shimer admitted to using marijuana and the substance was found in the vehicle. Shimer later consented to a urine test which was sent to the DCI Crime Lab for testing. Officers received the results of the test Jan. 13, showing Shimer had tested positive for THC.

Shimer was being held in the Union County Jail on $1,000 bond.
