Boys rankings
Winterset (6-1) has jumped two positions to No. 4 in Class 3A in the Associated Press Iowa boys high school basketball rankings.
The 3A poll is headed by fellow Raccoon River Conference member Carroll (6-0). Dallas Center-Grimes (7-1) is No. 5 and Harlan (7-1) is No. 9. Glenwood is among the teams receiving votes. (Records are as of Monday’s voting period.)
Mount Ayr (9-0), a Class 1A boys basketball school, is erroneously listed as No. 10 in Class 2A, one position behind Van Meter (7-0). Treynor (10-1) is No. 3 in 2A, which is topped by West Sioux (11-0).
Montezuma (7-0) leads the Class 1A poll. Martensdale-St. Marys and CAM received votes. The 4A poll is topped by Waukee (7-0). Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln and Indianola received votes.
Girls rankings
The latest Iowa girls basketball rankings by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union include Council Bluffs St. Albert (8-3) No. 10 in Class 1A and Central Decatur (8-1) at No. 13. Montezuma (11-0) is No. 1. (Records through Wednesday).
Mount Ayr (8-2) is ranked 13th in Class 2A with Panorama (9-2) No. 14. AHSTW (11-1) is ranked 11th. Cascade (11-0) is No. 1 in 2A.
Dike-New Hartford (10-1) heads the 3A rankings, which also include No. 6 Red Oak and No. 8 Des Moines Christian, a pair of Creston opponents.
Two Hawkeye 10 teams are in the Class 4A rankings — No. 4. Glenwood (12-0) and No. 8 Lewis Central (7-4). Dallas Center-Grimes (7-4) and ADM (7-3) are 13th and 15th, respectively.
Iowa City High (9-0) is the top-ranked 5A team. Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln (9-2) is No. 14.
Wrestling

Winterset is No. 4 in Class 2A on The Predicament’s latest Iowa team tournament wrestling rankings. West Delaware is the 2A leader. At 182 pounds Creston/O-M’s Jackson Kinsella is ranked second behind Sage Walker of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. Sam Chapman is No. 6 at 195 pounds.
