Shelby Johnson, 28, of Chariton, was charged with theft 10:40 a.m. Thursday following an investigation.
According to a Creston Police report, Johnson had multiple incidents at Walmart. On Jan. 4, Johnson was seen taking a total of $139.10 in goods by putting barcodes of less expensive items on more expensive items. Johnson was seen doing the same method at Walmart on Jan. 5, for merchandise totaling $31.85.
Johnson was being held in the Union County Jail on $300 bond.

Aaron Johnson, 22, of Creston, was charged with driving while suspended 4:54 p.m. Thursday on South Elm Street.
According to a Creston Police report, Johnson was driving a 2002 Ford south on South Elm Street when an officer noticed Johnson wasn’t wearing a seat belt and the vehicle did not have license plates. After initiating a traffic stop, it was found Johnson’s license was suspended with four withdraws in effect.
Johnson was being held in the Union County Jail on $300 bond.
