Axne Launches “Iowan of the Week” Congressional Honor

Weekly honor will enshrine work of unsung Iowans in official Congressional Record

WASHINGTON — Rep. Cindy Axne (IA-03) launched a new program to honor Iowans for their hard work and contributions to their communities by submitting them to Congress as “Iowan of the Week.”

“One of my favorite parts of representing Iowa’s Third Congressional District in Congress is the opportunity I have to celebrate outstanding and often unsung Iowans for their work to help improve Iowa,” said Axne. “Each Iowan of the Week will be recognized for helping their neighbors and making Iowa better by enshrining their contributions in the Congressional Record for future generations to see.”

You can watch Rep. Axne introduce the “Iowan of the Week” program by following Rep. Cindy Axne on YouTube.

Each week, Axne will submit a statement to the Congressional Record on the unsung Iowan, detailing their work and efforts to make Iowa better and help improve the lives of others.

“If you have someone you think deserves to be Iowan of the Week, please write to my office to nominate them,” said Axne.“I look forward to reading your submissions and learning more about our neighbors who have helped their fellow Iowan.”

Nominations can be submitted through Axne’s website or letters may be sent to Rep. Cindy Axne, 330 Cannon HOB, Washington, D.C. 20515.
