Lenox, Osky split in Osceola
OSCEOLA – The bowling season kicked off for Lenox, Clarke and Oskaloosa Monday night in Osceola with the Lenox girls and the Oskaloosa boys splitting the night.
The Lenox girls rolled a score of 2,283 pins with Chelsey Hoakison leading the way with 362 across two games.
Austen Davis rolled a 326 and Abbie Notz rolled a 315 as the next highest scores for the Tigers.
Oskaloosa was led by Nikki Parlet’s 298. As a whole, the Oskaloosa girls rolled an 1,887 with a baker of 718. Clarke’s leader was Hannah Wisniewski, throwing a 335. Clarke’s score was a 2,008 with a final Baker score of 632.
In the boys match, it was Oskaloosa who came away with the win, scoring a team score 2,657. Dylan VanWyk was the leader for Oskaloosa with 464 pins. For Lenox, the leader was Lupe Gonzalez with 313 pins.
Lenox rolled its way to a 2,105 for second. Clarke was third, rolling a 2,070 with Jayden Giza’s 336 being the team high.
Mount Ayr
cleans up
MOUNT AYR – Mount Ayr cleaned up to open the season, winning both the girls’ and boys’ matches over Southeast Warren and Lamoni.
The Mount Ayr boys rolled a score of 1,682 and Southeast Warren rolled a 1,278.
The Raiders were led by Michael Sluyrer, throwing a 283. Darrian Holmes was the second highest total with a total of 271 pins.
The Lamoni boys did not have statistics available at press time.
Mount Ayr’s girls team put up a score of 1,676 with Kaitlyn Dolecheck leading the way with 278 pins.
Laurie Belzer and Hanna Ackley posted a 200-plus pin match, rolling a 217 and 212, respectively.
The Warhawk girls posted a score of 1,402 with Cougar Fridley throwing a team-high 224.
Lamoni girls stats were unavailable at press time.
