Ron Hower, 75, of Creston, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston. Celebration of life memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Mary O'Riley will officiate. Open visitation, with family present will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to EveryStep Hospice. Online condolences can be left at www.powersfh.com.

Ronald Michael Drummond, son of Eldon “Mike” and Helen Hower, was born April 19, 1944, was born in Columbus, Nebraska, and taken to the child savings institute in Omaha at 5 days old. At the age of 6 months, Ronald Michael Drummond became Ronald Michael Hower.

Ron graduated with the CHS class of 1962 and went to trade school in Omaha, Nebraska, graduating in 1963.

Ron married Sharon Loudon in 1963.

He worked at Hills McCanna as a maintenance man. Later he went to work at Hy-Vee in the meat department. He and his wife owned and operated the A&W restaurant for several years. Then he worked for Brad Waltz construction. Later Ron worked with Green Valley Pest Control & Lawn Care and also with Randy Thaden Lawn Care.

Ron is survived by his wife Sharon of Creston; children: Bob and Tara Hower of Creston, Phil (Julie) Hower of Wichita, Kansas, Lyndsay (Donald) Krings of Fruitland; grandchildren: Megan Hower of Creston, Dylan Hower (significant other Jessica O’Riley) of North Liberty, Alec Christensen (significant other Summer Fechner) of North Liberty, Gavin Krings of Fruitland, Logan (Kalyn Hower) of Wichita; step-grandchildren: Jaylyn and Tanner Klejch; siblings: Connie Brentnall of Creston, Courtney (Harry) Sallean of Houston Texas, Dale (Deb) Murcek of Columbus, Nebraska; brother in-law Jim Loudon of Madrid; many nieces and nephews

He was preceeded in death by his son Gregory Paul Hower, parents Eldon “Mike” and Helen Hower, and daughter in-law Lori Hower.
