Adella Pool

Adella Pool, 79, of Creston, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at EveryStep Hospice House in Creston.

Services will be held 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 107 W. Howard St. Open visitation with family present will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery St. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family, to be determined at future date. Adella Ruth Pool, daughter of Charles Martin and Helen Merle (Huffman) Britten, was born June 25, 1940, in Nevinville.

She graduated from Richland High School in1958.

On June 29, 1958, Adella married Donald Eugene Pool at St. John’s Catholic Church in Greenfield.

Adella worked alongside Donnie on the farm and worked outside the home at various places including Country Hearts and as a switchboard operator for the Nevinville phone company. Adella was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the Elk’s Lodge.

Adella is survived by husband Donnie Pool of Creston; her children: Shelley Carter of Creston; Kelly Pool of Orient and Becky Pool of West Des Moines; grandchildren: Jared Carter, Tavian Rumple, Andrew (wife Ashley) Pool and Adam Pool; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding Adella in death were her parents, her brother Paul Britten, father-in-law Vergil Pool and her mother-in-law Marie Pool.
