Guthrie County Sheriff's Deputy Steven Henry, son of Creston Police Officer Pat Henry and Debbie Henry, was shot while serving an arrest warrant around 10:40 p.m Thursday in Stuart.

Guthrie County Deputy Jim Mink was also shot, and Guthrie County Deputy Kent Gries suffered powder burns. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

The suspect, Randall Comly, 52, also sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

All of the injured were transported to Des Moines area hospitals. Gries was released from the hospital. Henry and Mink were released Saturday. Comly's condition has not been released.

The incident occurred as Henry, Mink and Stuart Police Officer Tyler DeFrancisco were attempting to serve outstanding felony arrest warrants on Comly at an apartment in Stuart. When they knocked on the door, it was answered by an adult male other than Comly. Upon entering the apartment, someone from inside the apartment fired at them. The officers returned fire.

More than 50 officers, deputies and troopers from surrounding areas were called to the scene. The officers secured the area, evacuated the neighbors and were able to take Comly into custody.

No charges related to the shooting have been filed against Comly at this time. He remains in police custody on outstanding warrants at a Des Moines hospital.
