Union County Genealogical Society hosts seminar

The Union County Genealogical Society will host their First Saturday Seminar noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 2 in the genealogy room at the Gibson Memorial Library, 200 West Howard St., in Creston. Returning genealogist is Linda Greethurst with a presentation on Legacy Family Tree Genealogy Software. This will be an informative session for those who are considering a software program to organize their family history research.

An active volunteer at the Iowa Genealogical Society Library, Greethurst provides leadership for two special interest groups at the library. She meets monthly with The Legacy Interest group at 1 p.m. on the 3rd Thursday and with the Norwegian Interest Group at 7 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday.

Following the seminar, guests are invited to receive assistance with any research questions from volunteers of UCGS. The seminars are open to the public at a nominal fee which can be paid online or at the door. Pre-registration is requested online or by calling 515-868-1415.
