Myrtle Leola Adams, 80, of Mount Ayr died Sept. 15, 2019, at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center. Services will be held 11 a.m. Sept. 20 at the Mount Ayr United Methodist Church with Pastor Emily Peasley officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr. Open visitation will be 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept.19, Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W Monroe St., with family present 10 to 11 a.m. Memorials will be decided at a later date by the family. Leola Adams was born Dec. 28, 1938, in rural Ringgold county to Lester H. Beckett and Geneva (Price) Beckett Curphey. She attended rural Taylor County schools and Lenox grade school. She acquired her GED and worked in the Lenox Care Center for several years.

On Oct. 11, 1969, Myrtle Leola Adams married to Raleigh Adams and they made their home in Mount Ayr. Leola worked at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center for 23 years until ill health forced her to quit working in 1997.

She is survived by sisters Imogene Mains of Creston and Lois Lamb of Mount. Ayr, Janice (Mike) Miller of Creston, brother David Beckett of Lenox; many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Preceding Leola in death were her parents, husband, brother Earl Beckett, sister Jane Sanburn, niece Linda Sobotka and nephew David Sobotka.
