Help make the library grand

Connie Maxon, Creston

From June through August, Gibson Memorial Library has been encouraging literacy with engaging summer programs. As school begins later this month, we will continue supporting the community with programming for all ages.

We are embracing the limited library space we have to create, make, examine, imagine, compose and propose new ideas. A library is no longer defined only by the tangible materials it possesses. A book can help create memories, but libraries also offer infinite potential for dreaming, planning. discovering, growing and investigation. While a library is a fixed built environment, every visit and every integration office a distinctive experience.

When our library melds the legacy of its past with the possibilities of the future, it is both familiar and comfortable, yet novel and inspiring. Whether you visit to grab a cup of coffee, a crime thriller, or conversation with a friend, a library is incomparable in its potential to offer assorted solutions to an equally varied group of people. Today's libraries are truly community catalysts"; they are designed to bring people together and a result are transforming neighborhoods.

We want our public library in Creston to offer the novelty of space we currently don't have and create activities in ways yet to imagined. Between now and the end of the year, our goal as a capital campaign committee and board of trustees is to raise one million dollars. We can do this when we have a thousand people of groups give $ 1,000 each. So please lend a hand to help us make the library grand. We believe we can achieve this goal to give us the library for the future.
