Summer Athlete of the Week: Week Six

The sixth summer sports South Central Iowa Athlete of the Week polls have been conducted with two winners. (July 1 – July 6).

Polls were conducted on the Twitter profile of CNA/OST/FO/ACFP sports editor Carter Eckl (@CarterEckl) and on esurveypro.com. Final percentages are determined by the total votes in both polls.

Baseball – Dustin Lund – Senior – Southwest Valley

In three games: Went 2-for-8 at the plate. On the hill Lund threw 5 2/3 innings of work with eight strikeouts and three earned runs allowed.

Softball – Bre Klein – Senior – Murray

In four games: Was 10-for-14 at the plate with four home runs, seven RBIs, four runs scored and a double. In the circle, Klein threw 17 innings and allowed three earned runs for an ERA of 1.23. She also had 33 strikeouts and allowed just eight hits.
