Todd Micheal Reiner, 31, of Des Moines was cited for failure to stop and clear distance after an accident 4:14 p.m. Monday on Highway 34.
According to a Creston Police report, Reiner was driving a 1986 Plymouth westbound on Highway 34 in the right lane when his vehicle struck the left rear of a 2015 Ford, driven by Richard Helle of Peosta, also traveling westbound on Highway 34 in the righthand lane. Reiner admitted he was tired and falling asleep at the wheel.
Estimated damages were $200 to Helle’s vehicle and $600 to Reiner’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 1:07 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of West Mongomery and North Lincoln streets.
According to a Creston Police report, Brandon Lee Kinkennon,19, riding a bicycle, ran a stop sign while travelling west on West Montgomery Street and struck a 2009 Ford driven by John Benjamin Rutz, who was travelling southbound on North Lincoln Street.
Estimated damages were $2,000 to Rutz’s vehicle and $1,000 to Kinkennon’s bicycle.

No citations were issues after an accident 3:55 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of North Sumner and West Howard streets.
According to a Creston Police report, John Robert Carroll, 59, driving a 2011 GMC was stopped at the intersection of West Howard and North Sumber Streets, attempting to go West through the intersection and struck a 2005 Subaru Driven by James Allen Wenstad who was travelling northbound on North Sumner Street.
Estimated damges were $1,000 to Wenstad’s vehicle and $400 to Carroll’s vehicle.
