Mark Linn Bagely, 56, 1003 S. Sumner St., was charged with second offense operating while intoxicated 3:22 a.m. Monday, on the 1000 block of S. Sumner St.

According to a Creston Police report, officers observed a vehicle with expired registration and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle struck the front curb while parking. Officers observed the smell of alcohol on Bagley’s breath. He failed a field sobriety test. Bagely consented to a preliminary breath test, which showed a BAC .119.

Bagley was being held on $2,000 bond.

Joshua Russell Smith, 38, 1501 N. Lincoln St. No. 11, was charged on an Iowa Department of Corrections warrant for violation of parole, 8:45 a.m. Monday at 905 W. Townline St.

Smith was transported to the Newton Correctional Facility.

Rodney Earl Bell, 57, 302 1/2 N. Walnut St., was charged with domestic abuse with injury 2:45 p.m. Monday at his residence.

According to a Creston Police report, the victim stated Bell was at her residence on June 23 around 2 a.m. The victim stated Bell hit her multiple times while she was trying to go to bed. Officers observed large bruises consistent with the victim’s statement. A witness heard the fight and stated she came outside and saw Bell leaving the residence.

Bell was released on a $1,000 bond.

Todd Michael Reinier, 31, of Des Moines was charged with possession of a controlled substance 4:36 p.m. Monday on the 700 block of East Taylor Street.

According to a Creston Police report, Reinier possessed drugs and/or paraphernalia, was caught in the act, gave admissions and or statements, was operating a motor vehicle, identified by witnesses, and was near the scene of the crime.

Reinier was released from the Union County Jail on a $1,000 bond.

Lindsey Chumbley and Anthony Worthington, 1501 N. Lincoln St., reported 7:56 a.m. Monday, that vehicles parked there were vandalized. Chumbley had two tires punctured and the hood of her vehicle keyed. Worthington had a tire punctured.

Kendrick Davis, 612 Grand Ave. No. A4, reported 8:42 p.m. Monday, that a package was taken from outside his door after it was delivered to his residence Monday.

Estimated loss is $62.
