AFTON – Union County Fair open textile and quilting department is seeking entries for judging 1 p.m. Friday, July 19. Check-in time is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 18, and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 19.

There are classes for sewn clothing, all kinds of quilts, crocheted and knitted items, as well as embroidery and cross stitch with an entry fee of 50 cents. Open class fair books are available at the extension office or bring the handmade items and we will help you find a class. There are even classes for kids 14 and under. Check out open class textiles classes for a complete list of options available.

The popular “Quilt Show and Tell Hour” is 6 p.m. Monday, July 22. Bring an old or new quilt or several quilts to share with the group, there is no limit and all are welcome to join us. We love to talk about our quilts and even more, we love to hear the stories. Free to all in the breezeway of the 4-H building.
