Library pairs with Union County Veteran’s Affairs

Gibson Memorial Library announced the addition of three pictorial histories of U.S. involvement in several 20th-century foreign wars. Written from the perspective of American service men and women who served on the ground in the Korea, Vietnam and Kuwait, "Korea Reborn, A Time to Honor" and "The Liberation of Kuwait" were donated to the library by Kevin Provost and the Union County Office of Veterans' Affairs.

Library Director David Hargrove also announced the library is working to create a link streamlining digital resources for veterans at its website, creston.lib.ia.us.

“It occurred to Kevin and I that the library’s website would be an ideal place to assemble a range of disparate online resources for veterans in a single location,” Hargrove said, who added that in the coming months, the library would be building partnerships that improve digital access to employment, healthcare and education resources through the library’s website.
