Readers of all ages will explore all things space this summer as Gibson Memorial Library presents, “A Universe of Stories,” during their summer reading program. The 2019 summer reading program is open to all ages from birth to adult. Registration for the “A Universe of Stories” begins June 5.
Special programs for children will be held 10 a.m. June 12, 19, 26, and July 3 and 10 in the Holy Spirit Church fellowship hall. They include Jester Puppets, Happy Faces presenting “Space: Stories to the Stars and Back,” Blank Park Zoo, Singer Dino O’Dell and Magician Mike Prestby. Dan Wardell from IPTV will present a special program 1:30 p.m. July 22.
Lego Mania continues from 4 to 5 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays for children that have finished kindergarten and older.
Union County 4-H and the library will be presenting a robotics program from 10 a.m. to noon June 18, 25, and July 2. Children that have finished third through fifth grades are eligible and must preregister.
Storytime will be 10 a.m. June 7, 14, 28, and July 5, 12 and 19 for children ages 5 and under.
Teen programs will be 1:30 p.m. June 13, 20, 27, and July 11, 18, and 25. They will be making large paper stars, sun visors, galaxy T-shirts, vegetable sushi, dog treats and cat toys, and a checkerboard. Snacks will be provided.
