Drama camps offered June 24-27

CCHS speech and drama department has once again joined forces with SWCC Drama Club and are offering drama camps June 24-27 for ages 5-14.

The Rising Stars Drama Camp is for ages 11-14 will be four days long and will cost $40, which includes a T-shirt. The camp will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 24-27. All proceeds will serve as a fundraiser for the Creston Community High School speech team.

Students will attend sessions on improvisation, acting, musical theatre, stage combat, costume and makeup, script writing and character voice. The sessions are for all ability levels, and kids will have a lot of fun playing theatre games and preparing a readers theatre group script for the end of the camp performance.

Rising Stars will be held at Creston Community High School auditorium, 601 W. Townline St., in Creston. Go to the website at www.crestonspeechdrama.weebly.com/drama-camp for more details and registration forms. Registration forms may be picked up at the high school and middle school offices.

SWCC will be offering the Joseph Larson Little Spartan Drama Camp in two sessions for ages 5-10 at SWCC. For more information, contact Kelly Marcus at franklin@swcciowa.edu.

A performance night with both camps will be 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27, in the CCHS auditorium. The deadline to register for either drama camp is June 1.
