Oletta Ruth Wilson was born Dec. 13, 1922, to Agustus and Sudie (Talent) Wilson in Boliver, Missouri, and moved to Nevinville as a child. Letty lived most of her adult life in Creston, and moved to Red Oak in 2001 to live near her four daughters.
Letty worked many years as a checker at the Creston Hy-Vee, and always stated her greatest honor was being voted “most favorite checker” at that store. Letty had many wonderful friends, as she “never knew a stranger.” Her greatest love was her family and her pets, who never left her side. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Letty was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Hans (Ken) Hansen and Francis (Bud) Hethcote; sons, Richard D. and Dennis D. Hansen; daughter Lana M. Fort; grandsons, Zach Hansen, Shane Adkisson and Curtis Downey Beavers; son-in-law Ted Shatava; and four brothers.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Pat Shatava of Clarinda, Cindy (Larry) Rea of Red Oak and Debbie (Mark) Anderson of Mountain Home, Arkansas; son Dan Hansen of Creston; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends.
